NORTHLAKE'S JOURNEY OF FAITH
LEARN OUR STORY
God has been at work for a long time to bring our church to where it is today. There have been many men, women, and children who helped to launch, create, and pioneer a movement for the gospel in Lago Vista.

We believe that it is still only just the beginning of what God wants to do here!
GROWING INTO A FLOURISHING COMMUNITY
THE JOURNEY OF FAITH & GROWTH
In October 2006, five families came together to plant Northlake Bible Church with a vision to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the small but growing community of Lago Vista. The journey wasn’t always easy, but slowly and surely, others were drawn to the vision of reaching our local community.
For several years, Northlake Church held services in Lago Vista school classrooms. Then, in March 2014, the church began renting a facility on Lohman Ford Road—a simple warehouse but a space to call home. In August of that same year, this dedicated group of believers was able to purchase the building, making it a permanent home for their mission.
In the following years, Northlake Church remained committed to serving the community through outreach, caring for those in need, and making disciples. However, by early 2019, the elders recognized that the church was experiencing stagnation and a waning vitality in its mission.

In July 2019, after years of faithful perseverance, God opened a new chapter for Northlake Church. The elder board extended a call to Denny Henderson, a visionary new lead pastor. Denny, his wife Bridget, and their three children followed God’s call to serve in Lago Vista and the North Shore.
With a renewed vision to Love Jesus and Bring Hope, God began moving powerfully through Northlake Church. A fresh focus on prayer, generosity, and disciple-making reignited once-waning commitment, and new members were drawn to a place of hope and engagement.

As a result, Northlake Church has over quadrupled in size, expanded to multiple weekend services, and transformed that once-simple warehouse into a fully updated and remodeled facility—now serving as the headquarters for a growing gospel movement on the North Shore.

In 2021, Northlake Church launched the Northlake Hope Center on Dawn Drive in front of City Hall (www.northlakehopecenter.com). The Hope Center provides a full professional counseling center, crisis care services, and community engagement initiatives, furthering Northlake’s mission to meet our neighbors' spiritual, emotional, and practical needs.
In the fall of 2024, Northlake Church launched Northlake Español, its fourth Sunday worship service. This ministry is instrumental to Northlake’s vision of reaching every man, woman, and child in our community with the transforming power of Jesus Christ.

Currently, Northlake Church is in the midst of the City of God Capital Campaign (www.becomingacityofGod.com), a bold initiative to expand our campus. This project includes constructing a new 800-seat worship center, additional classrooms, and a grand lobby with a café to serve as a welcoming space for our growing congregation. Construction is set to be completed by Spring 2026.
Through it all, we remain deeply grateful for how God has provided, sustained, and grown our church family. We eagerly anticipate what He will do next in our community and our lives.
